Syrian government forces were preparing to deploy again to the southern city of Sweida on Friday after renewed clashes broke out overnight between Druze armed groups and members of Bedouin clans. The move comes despite threats from Israel, which pummelled Syrian troops earlier this week and warned that it would not allow Damascus to deploy its forces in Druze areas.
