A man has died after falling at London’s Wembley Stadium during an Oasis concert on Saturday night, according to officials.

A spokesperson for Wembley Stadium confirmed in a statement shared with The Hollywood Reporter, “Last night, Wembley Stadium medics, the London Ambulance Service and the police attended to a concertgoer who was found with injuries consistent with a fall. Despite their efforts, the fan very sadly died.”

“Our thoughts go out to his family, who have been informed and are being supported by specially trained police officers. The Police have asked anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them,” the statement continued, adding that the concert went “ahead as planned.”

Metropolitan Police told The Guardian that the victim was a man in his 40s. Authorities added in a statement, “The stadium was busy, and we believe it is likely a number of people witnessed the incident, or may knowingly or unknowingly have caught it on mobile phone video footage.”

Brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher are currently on the European leg of the Oasis reunion tour, after kicking off their first tour together in 16 years earlier this month. Next, they will perform shows across North America, Asia, Australia and South America.

Oasis shared in a statement to The Guardian regarding the tragic incident on Saturday, “We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of a fan at the show last night. Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved.”
