After reports that Israel is considering a total occupation of Gaza, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday said only a “complete” defeat of Hamas could return the remaining hostages home, while the UN warned that expanding the fighting risks “catastrophic consequences” for both the Palestinians and captives within the besieged enclave.
