Emma Hedlund and Saif Bakir’s spring Cmmn Swdn collection wonderfully captured the mood of an endless summer with designs that carried vacation vibes forward into sharp city dressing.

Short sets were accessories with beaded body chains, and tendrils of raffia floated from one side of a nicely tailored pant suit in an ochre hue. Breathable linens as well as mesh knits brought an ease to the clothing. A batik-like print on a pair of men’s trousers was a nice variation on the prevalent pajama theme. Long metallic knit dresses styled over pants were just the right kind of dressy for outdoor evenings by the beach, the kind when the sound of surf is in your ears and the stars seem brighter than ever in the night sky. “We wanted to find light in darkness,” said Hedlund—and they did.
