CBS is starting to build up the cast of its Yellowstone spinoff Y: Marshals.
Logan Marshall-Green has joined the series, which stars Luke Grimes as his Yellowstone character, Kayce Dutton. The show will follow Kayce as he becomes part of an “elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana, where he and his teammates must balance family, duty and the high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence,” according to the show’s logline. Y: Marshals is set for an early 2026 premiere.
Marshall-Green (And Just Like That, Carry-On) will play Pete Calvin, a friend from Kayce’s military service.
CBS picked up the series in May, expanding the Yellowstone-verse to the broadcast network (which has previously aired repeats of the flagship series). Franchise mastermind Taylor Sheridan is an executive producer of Marshals, but Spencer Hudnut (SEAL Team) will serve as showrunner and is writing the premiere episode. John Linson, Art Linson, Grimes, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Yaitanes (who will direct the premiere), Michael Friedman and Keith Cox also executive produce. Rhe series comes from Yellowstone producers MTV Entertainment Studios (which is likely to be rechristened Paramount TV Studios following the Paramount Skydance merger closing later this week) and 101 Studios.
Marshall-Green’s credits also include ABC’s Big Sky, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Quarry. He is repped by CAA, 3 Arts Entertainment and Goodman Genow.
