    US President Donald Trump ordered the deployment of two nuclear submarines in an extraordinary escalation of what had been an online war of words with former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev, currently Russia’s Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia. Meanwhile, Ukraine and Russia are engaging in reciprocal drone strikes following a day of mourning in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said only Putin could end the war and renewed his call for a meeting between the two leaders.
