    House Narrowly Passes Trump’s Bill

In a 218-to-214 vote, the House passed a sweeping bill to extend tax cuts and slash social safety net programs.

“The ‘Yeas’ are 218. The ‘Nays’ are 214. The motion is adopted.” Chanting: “U.S.A., U.S.A., U.S.A., U.S.A., U.S.A.” “It’s extraordinary to me that as a result of this one big, ugly bill, this all out assault on health care in this country, millions of people are going to lose coverage, thrown off of health care. Set in motion a chain of events where hospitals will close. Nursing homes will shut down, people unable to get the care that they need to live a life of dignity and respect.” “This is jet fuel for the economy and all boats are going to rise. Thank you all for being here. We got to get a little rest. God bless.”
